SPINDALE, N.C., Sept. 19, 2026 – Fountain Electric & Services officially launched its 2026/27 Apprenticeship program this past Saturday, welcoming nearly 60 students into the four-tier program — the largest class in the company’s history.
The program trains apprentices from the ground up, pairing hands-on instruction with mentorship from instructors and journeymen who have spent decades in the field. Students in this year’s class are coming from across the region, reflecting the program’s growing reputation as a pathway into a skilled trade with long-term career potential.
“Our apprentices are building the foundation for a career that will power homes, businesses, and communities across the region for years to come,” the company said. “Students are coming from all across the region, a reminder that skilled trades aren’t going anywhere, and neither is our commitment to empowering the next generation.”
The apprenticeship spans four tiers, meaning this year’s class includes both new apprentices just beginning the program and returning students continuing their progression toward becoming licensed electricians. Fountain welcomed both groups back for the 2026/27 year with a catered breakfast from Chick-fil-A.
“To every apprentice starting this journey with us this year, welcome. And to those returning, welcome back,” the company said. “This is the beginning of something built to last, and we’re glad you’re here.”
Fountain Electric & Services, part of the Fountain Services family of companies, has offered its apprenticeship program as part of a broader commitment to developing skilled tradespeople across Rutherford County and the surrounding region.
