Well-planned outdoor lighting does more than look good, it makes your home safer to move around at night, deters unwanted visitors, and extends how much you can actually use your outdoor space after dark. Fountain designs and installs landscape lighting, deck and patio lighting, and security lighting, all wired safely and built to hold up to years of outdoor exposure.

Smart, Low-Maintenance Convenience

  • Set lights on timers or smart controls so you never think about them.
  • Choose low-voltage LED fixtures built for years of reliable use.

  • Reduce energy costs compared to older or incorrectly wired outdoor lighting.

Common questions

What's the difference between low-voltage and line-voltage outdoor lighting?

Low-voltage lighting (typically 12 volts) runs through a transformer that steps down your home's standard power, making it safer to install throughout a yard and easier to adjust or expand later. It's the standard for most landscape and pathway lighting. Line-voltage lighting runs at full household voltage and is typically used for fixed features like post lights or security floodlights. We'll recommend the right approach for what you're actually trying to light.

Can outdoor lighting be added to an existing landscape?

Yes, this is one of the most common projects we do. We run lighting through existing landscaping with minimal disruption, and can typically complete a full yard's worth of lighting in a day or two depending on scope. You don't need to redo your landscaping to add lighting to it.

Do outdoor outlets and lighting need special protection?

Yes. Any outdoor electrical work needs to be GFCI protected and use fixtures and wiring rated for outdoor, in-ground, or wet-location use, depending on where it's installed. This isn't optional, it's what actually keeps outdoor electrical work safe through rain, humidity, and temperature swings.

Can I control my outdoor lighting from my phone?

Many modern outdoor lighting systems support smart controls, letting you turn lights on and off, set schedules, or adjust brightness from an app. If that's something you want, let us know before installation so we can wire and configure the system to support it from the start.

How much maintenance does landscape lighting need?

Very little if it's installed correctly. LED fixtures last for years, and a properly weatherproofed system holds up well through normal seasonal changes. Occasional bulb replacement and clearing debris or overgrowth away from fixtures is typically all that's needed.

Will outdoor lighting increase my electric bill much?

Not significantly, especially with LED fixtures, which use a fraction of the energy older halogen landscape lighting did. Combined with a timer or smart control so lights aren't running when they don't need to be, most homeowners find the added cost is minimal compared to the benefit.
