MILL SPRING, N.C., Sept. 14, 2026 – Congratulations to Terry Fountain, owner and CEO of Fountain Electric and Services, on receiving the 2026 Duke Energy Citizenship & Service Award at last weekend’s Stars of Rutherford awards gala, held at Tryon International Equestrian Center.
The award recognizes individuals whose leadership and community involvement have made a lasting impact on Rutherford County. Fountain Electric and Services extends its thanks to Duke Energy, the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce, its members, and everyone who shares a belief in the future of this community.
“This recognition belongs to everyone who has supported Fountain over the years,” Terry said. “Our goal has always been to strengthen Rutherford County, whether that’s through good jobs, charitable giving, or simply showing up for our neighbors. I’m truly humbled by this honor and want to express my sincere gratitude to Duke Energy, the Chamber, and everyone in this community who makes that work possible. I will continue to do my best to live up to the ideals of this award in the years ahead as we remain fully committed to improving the quality of life in Rutherford County for both our associates, their families and the entire community.”
This year’s gala embraced an art deco, Roaring ’20s theme, and members of Fountain’s leadership team joined Terry and his wife, Buffy, for the evening. Congratulations to all of this year’s nominees and winners, and thank you to the organizers of the Stars of Rutherford gala for celebrating the people and businesses that make Rutherford County strong.
