The Nyoka Melton Library & Learning Commons is a comprehensive modernization at Isothermal Community College, reimagined to serve the evolving academic and digital needs of students in Spindale, North Carolina. The project revitalized the original 1968 facility and the adjoining William and Martha DeBrule Auditorium, transforming traditional, stack-heavy floorplans into an open, tech-forward learning commons and campus gathering hub.
Designed by Clark Nexsen and constructed alongside general contractor BEAM Construction, the completed overhaul brings flexible group study spaces, upgraded digital media labs, high-efficiency exterior window glazing, and modern architectural lighting systems to the heart of the campus. Fountain delivered the electrical construction and infrastructure throughout the facility, powering the collaborative environments and advanced learning technologies built for the next generation of students and faculty.
