Charlotte Museum of Nature
General Contractor: Rodgers Builders
Architect: Liollio Architecture & Hood Design Studio
$4 Million Electrical | $62.3 Million Total
The new Charlotte Museum of Nature, formerly Discovery Place Nature, is a complete reimagining of the original facility in the heart of Freedom Park. The new museum will provide immersive opportunities to explore the natural world through interactive exhibits, a naturalist lab, nature trails, a treetop canopy walk, public gardens, and habitats featuring native Piedmont wildlife, including North American river otters. Designed to connect visitors more directly with the surrounding landscape, the project also creates new outdoor gathering spaces and connections to Freedom Park and the Little Sugar Creek Greenway.
