Building the Future of Healthcare Education in Rutherford County
General Contractor: The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company
Architects: Moseley
$3.25 Million Electrical | $37 Million Total
The Dr. Bobby F. England Health and Sciences Center is the new home for Isothermal Community College’s nursing and allied health programs in Spindale, NC. The facility is named for Dr. Bobby F. England, a longtime Rutherford County physician and former Isothermal trustee, and was built to give the next generation of healthcare workers a modern place to train close to home.
The building brings together healthcare simulation space, teaching labs, and classrooms in one facility, replacing the college’s reliance on older, smaller spaces. It allows Isothermal to expand programs like nursing, EMT, and paramedic training, helping fill workforce needs at hospitals and healthcare employers across the region.
Fountain Electric delivered $3.25 million in electrical work across the project, supporting the power, lighting, and systems infrastructure behind a facility that will shape healthcare education in our community for decades. As a Spindale-based company, this was a project in our own backyard.
