Our commitment to excellence starts with investing in our people, technical skill first. Every apprentice and journeyman here gets real hands-on training, not just enough to get by, but enough to be genuinely among the best in their trade. But technical skill only gets someone so far. We also invest in leadership training and mentorship, because the person who’s great with their hands today is often exactly who should be developing the next generation of electricians tomorrow.
That’s the real point of all of it: a foreman who learns to develop the crew underneath him is the same person we want running a superintendent role a few years later, and a superintendent who knows how to develop foremen is exactly who we want in a leadership seat guiding the company itself. Every level of leadership at Fountain is expected to be developing the next one, so the pipeline never runs dry, and nobody’s advancement depends on someone leaving first.
That’s not just good for the person moving up. It’s good for the company that keeps them, and it’s good for the family and community they go home to every night. Eight decades in, that’s still how we build careers here, not by accident, but by design.
