Lakeside Produce’s Mills River, North Carolina operation sits on 15 acres of a 121-acre site, where the company grows tomatoes and mini-cucumbers hydroponically for distribution up the East Coast. The facility is designed to produce 700,000 pounds of tomatoes per acre across each 40-week growing cycle. Fountain Electric delivered the electrical scope across the 45,893-square-foot growing and packing facility and the site’s worker housing building, working alongside general contractor Cooper Construction. Work included site underground electrical, overhead and in-wall rough-in, lighting and occupancy sensor installation, receptacles, fire alarm rough-in, and electrical connections for exhaust fans and rooftop HVAC units.
